IMII’s DEMOday 2022 celebrates a record number of innovation pitches!

The International Minerals Innovation Institute (IMII) has been holding its DEMOday pitch event for innovations of use in Saskatchewan’s minerals industry since 2018. Demand for Indigenous potash workers leads to tailor-made training program at Cowessess

A training program tailor-made for the potash industry and the Indigenous population has celebrated its first graduating class. The course, called Digital Transformation in Potash Mining: Cowessess Edition, was designed after potash companies said they were having trouble recruiting Indigenous employees. A polytechnic first: using artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve mining processes

The mining industry is increasingly using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning as tools to optimize processes, create efficiencies, increase production and enhance decision-making. Innovative Education Program for Mining and First Nations Launches

January 10th, 2022 officially marks the launch of the Digital Transformation in Potash Mining: Cowessess Edition training program, delivered on Cowessess First Nation. Twelve students – 4 female and 8 male – will embark on their new journey towards building a career in potash mining, utilizing this course as a springboard.
