International Minerals Innovation Institute

(Saskatoon SK:) In response to mining industry demand, the International Minerals Innovation Institute (IMII) is pleased to announce that DEMOday will return in 2019 and once again be a part of the annual Saskatchewan Supply Chain Forum.

DEMOday is a minerals industry-led event that showcases innovative products for the review and evaluation of the Saskatchewan mining industry. The focus of the event is to identify and development innovations that matter to mining.

IMII, in cooperation with the Saskatchewan Industrial and Mining Suppliers Association (SIMSA), introduced DEMOday in 2018. At that first event, five innovations were presented to a panel of representatives from Saskatchewan’s leading minerals companies and IMII members – BHP, Cameco, K+S Potash Canada, Mosaic and Nutrien.

“DEMOday presents a unique opportunity for innovative supply chain companies to present their ideas, designs, inventions, prototypes and models directly to RD&D and operations personnel,” says Al Shpyth, IMII Executive Director. “This allows them to test out if their technology or practice meets an innovation need for the minerals industry and represents a business opportunity for their company.”

This second DEMOday will be held on April 3, 2019, on the eve of the 11th Annual Saskatchewan Mining Supply Chain Forum in Saskatoon.

Information on the DEMOday application process is available on the IMII’s website at imii.ca/demoday/.
