IMII Board Announces Retirement of Executive Director Al Shpyth and Launches Search for Successor

The Board of Directors of the International Minerals Innovation Institute (IMII) announced today that Al Shpyth, the organization’s Executive Director, will retire effective June 30, 2025, after eight years of exemplary service.

“Al has been a transformative leader for IMII, and his contributions have been pivotal to our success over the past eight years. His deep commitment to the minerals sector, combined with his unmatched knowledge and leadership, have shaped IMII into the organization it is today,” said Steve McLellan, Chair of the IMII Board of Directors. “Al’s career spans many facets of the minerals industry, both in Saskatchewan and globally. While we will deeply miss his expertise, we are immensely grateful for his dedication to IMII and the broader minerals sector.”

The IMII Board of Directors has initiated a comprehensive search for a new Executive Director. A Search Committee has been formed to lead the process and ensure a smooth transition.
