SASKATOON – The International Minerals Innovation Institute (IMII) salutes the second group of mining option graduates from the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Engineering.
There were five graduates in the inaugural class of students from the College of Engineering’s innovative mining options in geological, mechanical and chemical engineering last year, and 12 will receive their degrees during the U of S Spring Convocation at TCU Place.
Building on the success of the first graduating class which featured students who studied mechanical engineering and geological engineering options, this year’s class features from all three options.
“IMII looks forward to welcoming this year’s graduates and future graduates from this pioneering partnership with the College of Engineering that began in 2013. Students continued interest and success in the mining engineering options speaks well for the future of education and research in mining in Saskatchewan, and the sustainability of the minerals industry,” said Al Shpyth, executive director of the IMII.
