The International Minerals Innovation Institute (“IMII”) announced today the appointment of Steve McLellan, IDC.D as independent chair of its board of directors.
McLellan has 40 years’ experience of serving on boards and acting as CEO of associations in the province, most notably serving as CEO of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce from September 2007 to January 2022. Steve received his designation as a certified corporate director from the ICD – Rotman Directors Education Program and has a long commitment to excellence in the boardroom.
“Steve has extensive experience leading Boards and was the CEO of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce for 15 years,” said IMII board chair recruiting member Jeremy Breker of Cameco. “He brings non-technical diversity, which will help promote diversity of thought among the board membership. Steve’s network of contacts in Saskatchewan and his ability to connect with people at all levels are distinguishing attributes.”
“In my role with the Saskatchewan Chamber I became very familiar with the minerals sector and know as a business leader and citizen of this province how critical the sector is to the future of the country and the world,” said McLellan. “I am honored to be part of the IMII and applaud the high level of sector expertise in the IMII Board and staff.” McLellan replaces past Board chair Arnfinn Prugger who served three terms with IMII from 2020 to 2022.
